Mentor Application

Thank you for your interest in participating in the NEXUS Class of 2020. NEXUS Mentors are experienced leaders within their profession or/and community and whose character and commitment, we would like to see “duplicated” in the next generation. As part of the application process, we are asking you to answer the mentor questionnaire no later than July 20. The questionnaire will be key in matching you to your ideal protégé. It is important to the process to answer the questions as thoroughly as possible as well as be fully committed to the expectations outlined in the questionnaire. You will be contacted via email later this summer.

The mission of NEXUS is to encourage and equip the next generation of leaders for Memphis through proven mentoring, teaching, and service. To the best of your ability, can you commit yourself to the following expectations to ensure your leadership development in the upcoming NEXUS Class of 2020.

To attend the Opening Retreat on August 24, 2019; 8:30am-4:30pm
To fulfill the $500 Tuition Fee
To complete the assigned curriculum. (including books, articles, TED Talks, etc.)
To meet individually once per month with your Mentor/Protégé
To complete one Service Project organized and agreed upon by the NEXUS Class. (3-4 hour commitment)
To attend at least seven of the nine Thursday evening speaker sessions.Dinner sessions begin with dinner at 5:30pm and ends promptly at 8pm.

  • NEXUS Class of 2020 Speakers Announced

    We are excited to announce the below leaders as session speakers for the NEXUS Class of 2020. Speakers will share insight on leadership topics each month. Monthly sessions meet from 5:30-8pm at Second Presbyterian Church, 4055 Poplar Avenue in Memphis. Alumni are invited to attend. NEXUS IN MOTION will take place on Saturday morning in January and all NEXUS alumni are invited to join the Class of 2020.

  • Mentor Recruitment Underway for NEXUS Class of 2020

    Mentor Recruitment for the NEXUS Class of 2020 is currently taking place. Mentor applications will be accepted through July 20. Interested mentor candidates please complete an application at www.nexusleaders.org. As we recruit, we will continue to search for experienced, proven leaders to duplicate and young, emerging leaders to develop through mentor-ship, relationship and interactive teaching.
    All participants are considered and approved by the NEXUS Board of Directors. Applicants will be contacted later this summer with additional information and please save the date for our Opening Retreat on August 24.
