Protege Application

Protege recruitment for the NEXUS Class of 2022 is underway.  NEXUS continues to search for young, emerging leaders to develop as NEXUS Proteges.  Information provided on the submitted application will be used to match Mentors and Protégés.  Complete an application Protege Application 2.

Thank you for your interest in participating in the NEXUS Class of 2022. NEXUS Proteges are emerging leaders that are looking for personal development, professional development, and opportunities to serve our community. As part of the application process we are asking you to answer the protégé questionnaire no later than JUNE 10. The questionnaire will be key in matching you to your ideal mentor. It is important to the process to answer the questions as thoroughly as possible as well as be fully committed to the expectations outlined in the questionnaire. You will be contacted via email later this summer.

As we plan for the Class of 2022, safety for NEXUS participants is our priority. We will take all precautions to provide a safe in-person meeting environment. The NEXUS Board and Program Committee are being intentional and are committed to bringing the NEXUS Class experience back to its fullest. We are dedicated to providing an environment for our participants to develop personally and professional with an interactive and engaging experience.

The mission of NEXUS is to encourage and equip the next generation of leaders for Memphis through proven mentoring, teaching, and service. To the best of your ability, can you commit yourself to the following expectations to ensure your leadership development in the upcoming NEXUS Class of 2022.

To attend an in-person Orientation on August 21, 2021; 8:30am-4:00pm. Virtual or a location to be determined.
To fulfill the $500 Tuition Fee
To complete the assigned curriculum. (including books, articles, TED Talks, etc.)
To meet individually once per month with your Mentor/Protege
To complete one Service Project organized and agreed upon by the NEXUS Class. (3-4 hour commitment)
To attend in-person at least seven of the nine Thursday evening speaker sessions; 5:30-8pm.

Dinner sessions begin with dinner at 5:30pm and ends promptly at 8pm.
